RELEASE DEMANDED
ITALIAN ENGINEER IN RUSSIA CHARGE OF ESPIONAGE f United Press Association - li.v Electric Telegraph— Copyright 1 (Received 10th September. 12.55 p.m.) ROME, 9th September. The Government instructed the Am bassador at Moscow to demand the release of Luigi Patroni. a naval engineer, who was arrested near Leningrad last week and charged with espionage. Patroni is chief of a technical delegation lent to Russia by a big Italian shipbuilding company. The position is considered favourable, as thirty Russian engineers are studying with the same shipbuilders at Leghorn and could be held as hostages n reprisals are necessary.
