FLYING-BOATS’ CRUISE

FROM MALTA TO NIGERIA (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, 15th December. Two Royal Air Force Supermarine Scapa flying-boats of No. 202 FlyingBoat Squadron left Malta on Saturday on an inter-command and colonial development flight to Balabar, Nigeria. Air Commodore Maltby, Air Officer commanding the Royal Air Force in the Mediterranean, is accompanying Wing Commander Turner on .the cruise.

The first stages of the flight from Malta to Algiers and then to Gibraltar were carried out without incident. Today the flying-boats are proceeding; to Laluz, in the Canary Islands. From there they will continue ' down the West African coast via Port Efrienne, Bathurst, Freetown, Takoradi and Lagos to Balabar.
