LAST WEEK’S PLACEMENTS TOTAL 1121 Another record week was experienced by the State Placement Service for the week ended last Saturday, during which 1121 men were placed in employment. For several consecutive weeks the total has exceeded 1000, and the previous week’s figure of 1112 was a record. Despite the advent of seasonal labour permanent placements still total more than half of the aggregate of 18,376. The following figures show the operations of placement officers throughout the Dominion.
