KING'S BIRTHDAY
OUTDOOR FIXTURES TO-MORROW All winter sports bodies have arranged special programmes for tomorrow, the King’s Birthday, which will be recognised as a general holiday. In the morning the annual senior and junior six-a-sicle hockey tournament will be held at the Botanical Reserve. A ladies’ basketball touranment will be played at the Central School courts during the morning. The Nelson Rugby Union has arranged seven-a-side tournaments for all grades and the schools. The matches will commence at Trafalgar Park in the morning and will continue in the afternoon, the finals being ■staged at about 4 o’clock. The Association Football fixture will be a senior match between Celtic and Athletic in the semi-final of the Price Charity Cup competition. The game will be played at Tahuna. In the evening the theatres will be open and a number of dances will be held. The Scottish Society 1 is holding a gala dance in the Velma Hall. The annual ball of the Nelson College Old Boys’ and Old Girls’ Associations will be held in the College Assembly Hall. At Wakefield the Rover Football Club’s annual ball will be held.
