NARROW ESCAPE OF OCCUPANTS (By Telegraph—Press Association) ASHBURTON, This Day. Fire destroyed a six-roomed dwelling at Winchmore, owned by the Kaiapoi Borough Council and occupied by W. Withell. Nothing was saved, Mrs Withell and six children escaping in little more than their night attire. Two children vacated a room just as the roof collapsed. The insurance of the house, an old one, is unknown. The furniture was insured for £IOO.
