REVENUE AND EXPENDITURE
FIGURES FOR BRITAIN (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, 29th January. Last week’s revenue collections compare very favourably with those of .the corresponding week of last year. Since the beginning of the year receipts from income tax and surtax have been equal to a daily average of £2,335,000, compared with £2,293,423 in the corresponding period of last year. The- total ordinary revenue for the current financial year to date, exclusive of self-balancing items, amounted on 25th January to £531,231,486, as compared with £508,860,213 on the corresponding date a year ago. The total ordinary expenditure to date amounts to £599,933,361, as against £578,433,549 last year.
