GOLDEN WEDDING
EX=NELSONIANS To celebrate the golden wedding of Mr and Mrs S. Baigent, a very pleasant function was held recently at the residence of Mr and Airs L. V. Scott, Oncrahi (reports the Whangarei “Advocate”). ’ ' ’
A big crowd was present, and a dainty repast spread by way of feast. The guests of the evening were toasted, amid cheers, with all good wishes for continued health and happiness in the years to come. Mr and Mrs Baigent, who were married' : in Eovedale Methodist Church, Nelson, on 30th December, 1885, were presented with a handsome clock, as a mark of the esteem in which they are held by all. Suitable reply was made, and afterwards time passed pleasantly with cards, song and recitation. It was late when a delightful evening closed with “Auld Lang Syne,” and the singing of “For They Are Jolly Good Fellows.” Mrs Baigent is a daughter of the' late Mr and Mrs John Winn, of Dovedale, and Mi 1 Baigent is a son of the late Mr and Mrs Alfred Baigent, of Wakefield.
