PINNED UNDER CAR

MAORI KILLED (By Telegraph—Press Association) HASTINGS, 18th December. A young Maoii, Tu Brightwell, married, was killed when a car in which he and two others were passengers went over the bank on the road between Havelock North and Waimama last night. The other two were uninjured. The three Maoris had been shearing at Maraetotara and went to Havelock for stores, and on the way home the car capsized and rolled over the bank, throwing the occupants out. The car dropped 20 feet and the deceased, was pinned underneath. Death is believed to have been instantaneous. An inquest was held this morning, and after identification was adjourned.
