When this year’s health stamp campaign was inaugurated by His Excellency the Governor-General, Lord Galway, in a radio address on 29th September, the financial objective of £lO,000. mi (iht have appeared ambitious, but there is every prospect of its achievement at an early date. The DirectorGeneral' of the Post* Office (Mr G. McNamara) reports that since the- last periodic statement of finance there has been an addition of £1364 to; the total, which now stands at £8628 4s 7d. The health camp programmes for the welfare of the children have been*substantially extended owing to the prompt and generous • response of the public throughout the Dominion. The organisations concerned are confidently basing their plans upon the attainment of the full sum, alFof Avhigh.'.can be effectively utilised. “I feel sure,” stated His Excellency ill his address commending! the object to the people of the Dominion, “that the community will realise that there is a very real need for extension of the health camp work and that the results—in increased good health, in greater happiness to many thousands of children —will comrpend the campaign so strongly to your generosity that the objective of £IO,OOO will quickly be reached.” District totals to date are as follows:
