CHARGE OF WIFE MURDER

WELL-KNOWN MUSICIAN ARRESTED LONG POLICE INVESTIGATION (By Telegraph—Press Association) AUCKLAND, This Day. Eric Alareo aged 41 years, a wellknown musician and composer, was arrested on a charge of murdering his wife Thelma Clarice Alareo at Auckland on 15th April. The arrest was made by Detective-Sergeant Aleiklejohn ami Detective Hamilton who have been investigating the circumstances of Mrs Alareo s death for the past four months. Marco's wife, aged 29 years, died in Amkland Hospital on 15th April having been-admitted that afternoon. She was .Mureo’s second wife they having been married about 18 months. At the inquest her step-daughter said that Airs Alareo was addicted to drink and had told witness that if her responsibilities became too great there was a way out. Witness considered it quite possible that she might take her life. The inquest was ajourned sine die. A REMAND GRANTED AUCKLAND, This Day. There was a crowd at the Police Court to-day when Eric Alareo, aged 41 years, a musician, appeared on a charge that on 15th April lie murdered his wife Thelma Clarice Alareo. He walked into the dock carrying several sheets of music in one hand and a hat in the other.

The police asked for a remand fill 11th September. Accused’s solicitor offered no objection and upon the Alagistrate granting the remand accused immediately left the dock and returned to the prisoners’ room.
