APPEAL FOR PRAYER

- (l'o tho Editor) Sir, —The clergy of the Nelson Clerical Society are in the midst of a meeting, and have just prayed that the members of the League of Nations Council which is to meet to-morrow will be guided in their deliberations. May we suggest that those who read this letter will offer a prayer that the Council bo given wisdom and courage, that treaties will be honoured and that war will even now be averted. “More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of.”—We are, etc., P. IL ITAGGITT (Dean). T. G. SMITH (Archdeacon). Nelson, 3rd September.
