HOUSES STRUCK BY LIGHTNING

ROOFS TORN OFF CONFUSION AT GLASGOW (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—-Copyright) (Received 25th June, 9.50 a.m.) LONDON, 23rd June. Twenty houses were struck by lightning during a violent early morning storm at Glasgow. Roofs were torn off and bouses set on fire. Stormwater was at some times four feet deep and drove residents from houses. A hurst water main and failure of electric light increased the confusion. Fifteen residents of a tenement barely reached the street when the roof fell in, penetrating three floors.
