THROUGH TO MURCHISON
WAYSIDE GREETINGS DUKE AT WHEEL (Uy Telegraph—Press Association) MURCHISON, This Day. A good trip was made by the Royal party to Murchison, His Royal Highness being at the wheel of his car most of the way. With the ’quake-scarred hills towering above the Buller river and a sylvan scene in the foreground, the Duke, who was travelling in his shirt sleeves, stopped his car at the Longford bridge and cinematographecl the river picture and tlie razorb&ck SPGCtclclG. Responding to the Murchison welcome, which was a fitting culmination to many wayside greetings, the Prince said lie was glad to see that all traces had been removed of the disastrous earthquake, and he expressed the hope that the fertile valley would enjoy prosperity in future. The Duke had a picnic lunch in the Buller Gorge.
