AIR SERVICE
PALMERSTON NORTH-DUNEDIN UNION COMPANY SAID TO BE INTERESTED (By Telegraph—Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH. This Day. It is reported that the Union Steam Ship Company intends to apply for a license to operate an air service between Palmerston North and Dunedin. Mr Matthewson, general manager of the Union Steam Ship Company, refused to affirm or deny it. It is suggested that tho time-table may be arranged to allow passengers on the south-bound Main Trunk express to be picked up at Palmerston North at about 7 a.m. and flown to Christchurch and Dunedin before noon. Tlie northern service would also be organised to allow mails posted at Dunedin on one day to reach Auckland the following morning.
