CONTACT WITH “LIVE” WIRE
WAIMEA POWER BOARD EMPLOYEE Mr George Sinclair one of tlie Wnimon Power Board employees, who met with a serious accident and was admitted to the Nelson Hospital was reported to-day to be in an unchanged condition although he had a. better night last night, Sinclair whilst engaged in removing the old borough cables from an electric light pole in Queen Victoria, street on Friday afternoon, prepartory to the installation of the new transmission lines, came in contact with a “live” wire with the result that he received a severe shock causing him to lose his balance and fall heavily to tlie ground. Fortunately artificial respiration was successfully resorted to after the injured man had been unconscious for a period of about twenty minutes. In the meantime, Dr. Fearless who was hurriedly summoned, assisted in restorative measures, Sinclair being later conveyed to his homo suffering from shock and injuries sustained by the fall. Further medical examination disclosed a broken collar-bone and a fractured rib.
