TAHUNA AND VICTORY DRAW Played on a fast wicket at Trafalgar Park last Saturday the game between Victory and Talnina produced some good batting by several Victory players and a great double performance by G. Gates of the Tahuna team. Winning the toss Victory elected,to bat, and compiled the good total of 227 for eight wickets. With no chance of obtaining this total in one and a half hours the Talmna batsmen were content to play for a draw, with the result that only 46 runs were scored for the loss of four wickets. Batting for Victory, Reid 59, Jamieson 43 not out, J. Beard 43 Holland 15, J. Mayo 13, J. De Fue H and Thompson 10 all batted well. G. Gates was the only Tahuna batsman to reach double figures witli 22 not out. Bowling for Talnina G. Gates took live for 55 off 22 overs, 8 maidens, G. Coleman two for 38. ... Bowling for Victory J. Baird took three for 13 off 12 overs, and J. De Fue one for 6.
