Semi-final matches in the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association’s annual championships on Saturday resulted Men's Singles.—Andrews (England) boat Donohoe (Australia' 6-1, 6-2 6-2; Malfruy .(Wellington) beat Sturt (Auckland), 10-8, 7-5 : 6-3. Ladies’ Singles.—Miss Marjorie Macfarlane beat Miss N. Beverley (Matamata), 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 ; Miss Dulcie Nieholls (Wellington) beat Miss B. Knight, 6-1, 6-1. Men's Doubles —Andrews and Sturt beat Morrisun and Rowlands, 6-4, 6-1, 6-2; Malfroy and Bartleet beat Donohoe and Wilson, 3-6, 6-4,-6-3, 3-6, 6-3. Ladies’ Doubles. —Misses Nieholls and Beverley beat Mrs Melody (Wellington), and Miss Knight, 6-0, 6-0.
ANDREWS DEFEATS MALFROY AUCKLAND. 29th January. In the men's tennis final Andrews beat Malfroy 6-0, 6-4, 4-6, 6-1. In the ladies’ final Miss D. Nieholls beat Miss Marjorie Macfarlane 6-4, 6-2. Andrews and Sturt (Auckland) defeated the title-holders Bartleet (Auckland) and Malfroy in the final of the men’s doubles, 6-4, 6-3, 6-2. Misses N. Beverley (Matamata) and G. Nieholls won the ladies’ doubles, defeating Misses J. Ramsay and D. Newton (Auckland), 6-3, 6-1.
WEST COAST MATCHES WESTPORT, 2tßh January. Tlie West Coast tennis championships, which were interrupted ,by two days’ rain, were continued yesterday in glorious’whether, with a. good rallery. Dyhiond (Christchurch) retained the men’s singles, defeating Ford (Christchurch) in the final, 2-6, 6-2, 6-1. Miss Costgllo;(Grey mouth) retained the ladies’ singles title, defeating Mrs Walker (Westport), 6-4, 6-2. Minifie and McLaughlin (Christchurch) won the men’s doubles from Warner and Pattison (Greymouth), 6-3, 6-2, and Nottlo defeated Fowler,' 6-3, 6-6, in the final of the boys’ championship.
