EFFECT ON LOCAL INDUSTRY (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received sth April, 12.35 p.m.) OTTAWA, 4th April. Mr Meighen told the Senate' the Government was considering action regarding British coal imports, which were blamed for the ruin of Fernie, a British Columbia town of five thousand, through the closing down of the coal mines. Ninety thousand tons of Scottish coal was imported into Vancouver in one month.
