FREIGHT SUBSIDY TO CEASE (United Press Association—By Electric Tel o gr aph—Copy right) SYDNEY, 30th March: As from Friday the State Government intends to discontinue the Is 6d per ton freight allowance as subsidy on coal from Newcastle. - The owners declare that it will he a crushing blow to the industry, and will almost completely ruin the export trade. . . The miners are also indignant. They point out that reductions both in wages and prices were agreed to on the understanding that the State Government played its part by reducing the freight.
