STOWAWAYS ON PORT CAROLINE
SENTENCED IN ENGLAND
(United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) LONDON, 29th March. Seven stowaways found on the Port Caroline soon after she left Auckland were sentenced to 28 days’ imprisonment at East Ilam Police Court-. The prosecution said three went to Australia as assisted migrants. Defendants pleaded that unemployment was very bad in New Zealand. They were workless and starving.
