STRIKE DECLARED
lIUNTLY RELIEF WORKERS (By Telegraph—Press Association) HAMILTON, This Day. A strike was declared yesterday by the Huntly relief workers. All drainage and swamp work in and about the town will be black-listed. A number of unemployed were detailed yesterday to clear the railway line of scrub and gorse in the central part oi the town for relief wages, 12s a day. The committee of the unemployed met and refused to let the men work on the job unless paid railway surfacemen's wages, 14s a day. Three 1 diet workers were engaged in work on the recreation ground at Iluntly yesterday. A police guard of five Hatched the proceedings. Over 200 unemployed are affected by the development. Drainage and swamp work lias been black-listed by the relief workers as being uncongenial and unhealthy. i
