ROBOT PACER FOR ATHLETES LONDON, 24th March.. The White City has been converted into Bi’itain’s greatest home of sport, the latest feature being the installation of an unbeatable athlete robot runner on the same principle as the mechanised hare, to provide pacing during training. The apparatus can be regulated, showing the runner the exact pace without a stop watch. The robot runner is in keeping with other mechanical aids in sport. The robot server has helped many a tennis champion in his practice, and the mechanical slip-catcher in cricket lias taught many a player where not to place the ball.
