GIANT WATERFALLS FOUND
, DISCOVERIES IN RHODESIA Discovery of throe great waterfalls, never before seen by white men, is announced ill the Journal of the Royal Geographic Society. . These were found in the wild, mountainous country of Northern Rhodesia, through which’ the explorer, Farquhar B. Mcßae, followed the course of the Kalomo River. Loveliest of the falls.
known to the natives as Ohibo cha Sikampafwa, or Place of the Sleeping Swallows, consists of a drop of the river, 150 ft. wide at that point, over a 00ft. precipice, after which comes a series of cataracts. The total drop is about 135 ft.
Two miles further down are the C'hinegkwusi Falls. There is a straight drop of abouj. 120 ft. Close by is a curious rock formation, shaped like a man’s head, in the river. At the junction of the Kalomo and Zambesi Rivers is tHe largest of all, known as Sleeping Place of the Monkeys, with a drop of 215 ft.
