CLOTHES CATCH FIRE

GIRL IN CRITICAL CONDITION (By Telegraph—Press Association) CARTERTON, This Day. Doris Rendle (20) of Fcatberston, was working in the kitchen of the residence of Mr Card, mayor, this morning, when her clothes caught fire. Her screams brought Mr Card to the scene and he quickly smothered the flames with a bath towel. The girl was taken to a private hospital where her wounds were dressed and she was then transferred to Masterton Hospital. Her condition is critical.
