NEW ZEALAND ROCK GARDEN
HEADQUARTERS AT THE HUTT (By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. Extinguished at Nelson, the New Zealand Alpine and Rock Garden Society is being re-formed at Wellington. lhe society was dependent mainly on the energy of its founder, Mr A. Wilkinson, who recently notified the society at Nelson that he was unable- to carry on the great mass of work into which the society had grown, the result being that the* Nelson bodv became entirely local. Wellington and Hutt Valley enthusiasts invited Mr Wilkinson, who was dissatisfied with Nelson's decision, to take up the matter here, and for a week Mr Wilkinson has been doing the spade work in the formation of a new society. This was brought to fruition at Lower Hutt last night. The patrons will be Sir Charles and Lady Fergusson, and the president is Mr Hope Gibbons of Wanganui. ' The committee, with Mr A. _ J. Nicliolls as secretary, goes into preliminaries and reports at "a meeting on 12th December.
