VISIT TO WELLINGTON
(By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, -20th November. Sir Douglas Mawson arrived from Sydney this morning. While in England he made investigations with regard to a suitable ship and equipment for carrying on. further coastal surveys in the South Australian region, a matter he hopes to see finalised during the coming year. Discussing various Antarctic expeditions he said there was no question Commander Byrd's expedition might be expected to return with .'in immense amount of valuable information ielating to the Boss Sea area. Very valuable remits should accrue because of Tie splendid equipment and good manage incut evident. The Wiikins expedition, nn the other hand, was limited in personnel and equipment, and taking wile this the limitation of base i! was noi likely to accumulate a gnat deal of information of scientific value, although it might be able to chart some of the uuktiou i: coastline
