Le Moiguo, the airman, had a remarkable escape while attempting to beat the world's altitude record. lie reached 30,000 feet, when lie fainted owing to the failure of the oxygen apparatus, and fell 5000 feet at the' rate of 250 miles an hour. When he regained consciousness he righted his machine.
