Sii - ,—-Tn llio advertising columns of your issue to-night appears a doubloioluinn item which is a reprint on the left hand side of a special article publislied by Mr Hurry Atmore in the "Evening .Mail" of the 23rd April last. On 1110 13th instant 1 published a letter iii wliicli I asked Mi' Atinoro whoth«r hia article was published under his own name doliherately or in ignorance, and in either case why he did not acknowledge the assistance of the critic from whose work the article was rallied. .Mr Atmore has given a number of explanations, many of which are inconsistent and some of which are ..absurd, but lie has not yet answered my question. In view •of the inference to Tje drawn from my 11nest ion, it. is right that the public should know the facts upon which I based wliiil was in effect a charge of plagiarism. On the right hand side will he seen extracts from Ingersoll's essay arranged to correspond as far as possible with .Mr Atmore's original work. There is still a widespread impression that .Mr Alinoro is falsely accused, and the public is now given an opportunity to judge the matter for itself.—l am, etc.', W. CARROL HARLEY.
