Twenty thousand people witnessed 7 the international rugby match-in which ; Ireland defeated France by S to'3. Disgraceful scenes attended tha-.con- ' elusion of play. Scott.' The* latter eventually escaped by the., back * door of the Stadium under police -protection.
It remains to he seen whether the. Irish will make a formal protest .and* whether they will refuse 'to ''p'laV;; France henceforth. Crawford, the Irish 4 captain, said he would not make an"' official protest. • ■■> v •
French critics and team agree, that. Scott carried out his duties as r.'t'er'ee in an unexceptionable manner.
