GERMAN ESPIONAGE
FRENCH ALLEGATIONS DENIED

BERLIN', 31st Dec, The newspapers refuse to give credence to French allegation of a vast network of German espionage. They regard it as highly improbable that Stranders was eneaeerl therein and state that after his association with inter-al-lied aeronautical control he settled in Berlin and acted as agent for various foreign aeroplane firms. The "LokalAnzciger" insinuates that the whole affair was vamped up by the French.
PARIS, 2nd Jan. Stranders, examined by the magistrate, admitted ' sending Weber information about French aeroplanes' engines and caterpillar wheel motors, but mercb of a commercial character. The director of a, Parisian aviation company gave evidence that Stranders never asked for details of military machines.
A GERMAN ARRESTED
BERLIN, 2nd Jan
"Von Luar, for many years a trusted emyloyee of Krupp's' locomotive department, was arrested on a charge of espionage on behalf of France. It is alleged that he attempted suicide while a wailing examination.
