It is reported from Geneva thut the Italo-German treaty will probably be signed by Dr. Slresemann .and Signor Scialoja before the end of’ the Council session. Dr. Stvesemann declined ah invitation from Signor Mussolini to visit Rlome for the purpose of signature, fearing such action might be misinterpreted. Meantime, Re assured M. Briand that the treaty is a simple one of. arbitration, devoid of any other political significance.
