SOCIALISTS COMPLETELY CHECKED
COMMUNIST VOTE INSIGNIFICANT

PARIS, Jan. 10. Five Ministers wore returned in the Senate elections. M. Richards, Minister of Agriculture, was defeated. Tlie Conservatives lost a few seats. The situation generally, is unchanged. The Press emphasises the complete died; suffered by the Socialists, none of whose candidates was elected. The Communist vote was insignicanfc.
Marcel Hutin, in the Echo do Paris, says the elections have strengthened the Ministry, which will not entertain the idea of a redistribution of portfolios. The Figaro says the results show a tendency to political moderation devoid of sectarianism.
