CHRISTCHURCH, Tins .Day, A Beriouß ■ affray at- Lyttelton Vast evening resided in the arrest of three men. The police had arrested a seaman for -using obscene language, and were then attacked by a large crowd, consisting mainly of seamen and firemen. In a struggle lasting over balf-an-hour two constables were badly knocked about, and the police were compelled to make free use of their batons in fighting their way to tpe police station. A threat to-oread the Riot Act caused the crowd to disperse.
