(United Press Association ; \E\\ r FDYMOL'TIL Feb. 17 The Dominion conference or tlic Women’s National Reserve Aviil. he oHicially opened here 1 o-morro w. .Delegates from all parts of New Zealand were entertaiiied to-day at a drive in tin* morning arid a garden party in tin* afternoon. At the garden party an illuminated address was presented to Mrs (Colonel) Porter. Dominion organiser of the Reserve, in recognition of her splendid work during the war and the following telegram was read from tin* Prime Minister:— “On behalf of Government I desire to thank the executive olficers and members of the Women’s National Reserve for the splendid work they have performed during the war period. It has been carried on very often without ostentation, but I desire to assume your executive of the full appreciation of the Government for the loyal eo-operation and assistance which the reserve ■ has rendered. I am sure that much of the good work achieved has been due to the untiring efforts of Mrs Porter, your organiser. 1 am exceedingly pleased to learn that the executive is making a practical recognition of her services. Please convey to her also the thanks of the Government.” It was suggested that reunions of the reserve should be held throughout the Dominion on Armistice Day, NEW PLY MOUTH I.T, Feb. I*.
The second annual Dominion Conference of the "Women’s National Reserve was opened this morning. Mrs Corliss, Wellington, presiding over 25 delegates. The Mayor accorded the delegates an official welcome.
