APPLICATION FOR GRANTS (United Press Association.^ DUNEDIN, This Day. Sir F. D. Bell, Minister of Education, met the Otago University Council, who aske<J for £20,000 for various purposes, including new buildings, chiefly a medical school. The Minister said that the Prime Minister had authorised- him to say that the Government regarded the medical school as • a national asset, and in making ‘.grantfe -he- would view it in that light. Regarding arts and other branches, the Government would! gir? amounts similar to that granted a jo other University colleges.
