BRITISH AND FOREIGN SAILORS' SOCIETY.
(United TVpss Association.) DUiNEUINj July 11. A meeting of business men was held this afternoon to aid the effort of the British and Foreign Sailors' Society to raise £250,000 for the benefit of mercantile marine sailors who have suffered through the war. It was resolved to use every effort to raise £20,000 to assist the movement. It was intimated that the Union Company would, give £SOO, Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co. £250, Mr John Roberts £IOO, Mr J. A. Johnstone £IOO, Messrs Brown, Ewing, and Co. £IOO, which with smaller amounts, totalled £1056.
