CSHRTSTCHURCH, This Day

An efficiency campaign having for its object the closing of the liquor trade with compensation was launched last night at a public meeting. The Mayor presided, and a motion proposed by the Rev. R. S. Gray was carried expressing strong approval of the proposals of the 2vew Zealand Alliance, and pledging the meeting to do all in its power to make th<* campaign a success.
