i Advice has been received at Blenheim } of the death in Egypt of Mr Bertram I Fidler, who recently resigned the posi- • tion of secretary to the Marlborough ■ Patriotic Association to proceed to. the : front as a Y.M.C.A. field secretary (reports the Express). The late Mir Fidler saw «?ervjee with the sth South Australian Reinforcements on Gallipoli, receiving a wound which destroyed the sight of one of his eyes. He attempted to enlist again,, both in. Australia and New Zealand, but was ■unsuccessful. •
! Mr J. M. % Willetts. of. -Owen Junction, has received word from the Minister of Defence that hrj? son Pte. (M. W. Willi etts. ha.s been awarded the Military Medal for gallantrv on the fiie-M of "action. Pte. Wiillette; left with the 20th Reinforcements, and has been- on motive service up to the time of being dangerously wounded on the S;id of May . Mr Willetts has two other srans on active service, Pte. C. A. AVdllett®, who was is.erionsly wounded nib the Battle of Passthendaele. and its now ( back in France, and Pte. J. ■ F. Wili le-tte, who left with the 35th -R-e&n----i foroemente.
