SICK AND WOUNDED SOLDIERS' FUND.
A meeting of \thc Advisory Board of the Nelson Sick and Wounded Soldiers' Fund was held ill the Mrivor'.s room last ■ •veiling. .Mr'W. \Y. Snodgrass (president). Mis Crawford, Messrs J I'. Hhvk. W. ('. Tlarlev, E. S Hoult, J A. Wallace. TJ. Rverett, K. d. Allen (hon. treasurer), and H. Kaundeis (seeretaiv). Apologies were received from Messrs J. H. Cock and James llnnt. and' Dr. Rett. A number of applications for assistance were received, from dependents of soldiers, and in most- cast's relief was granted. •: Numerous applications by returned soldiers were dealt with, and in most instances assistance was given. The executive reported on 21 application where advances had been made, in most cases to men just returned. It was resolved that the executive's action in these cases be endorsed. Accounts amounting to £76 7s Cd were passed"" for payment. Mrs Crawford 'reported on several cases, assistance, for whom had been left to her discretion. Tt was resolved that ■Mrs Crawford's report be received. The hon. treasurer (Mr K. -7. Allen) read a statement of the fund's financial position and receipts and expenditure for the quarter March 3Lst to June 30th. , , . Ah- Snodgrass reported on the business transacted at the Dominion Ad\isory V.oard meeting held at ChristHi nrch recently.
