Sir, —I have just received from the secretary of the .Ballarafc Water Commission the enclosed * reply to various questions I had. asked, regarding their experience in. tree-planting on their reserves. The Information is perhaps of sufficient general interest to wax-rant its publication in your columns, especially just now, when the City Council has the matter under consideration. —I am, etc., H.
