PLUNKET SOCIETY.

! The first meeting of the new committee of the Plunket K'ociety was held on ■Monday afternoon. The chair was taken by Mi's Buchanan, and twenty members were present. The president spoke of 'Mrs C. Y. Fell's recent- loss, and of the patience and courage shown by her throughout. A l (.solution o; sympathy was passed, the members standing. Nurse Thompson's report was read. Visits had been paid to Wakefield and Richmond, but the wet weather had prevented her visit to Motaeka. For the ami' reason the number of visits to the rooms had been less than usual. Mr Russell for message of congratulation -ent through Mr Young.
