SECOND DIVISION
CALLING UP OF CLASS A. rrhe officer commanding Group 12 has received advice from Headquarters that Second Division men, Class A, who have been ordered to go into camp in April, will now not be required to go into camp till the draft which assembles at Nelson 011 the evening of the 27th May next, and at Blenheim at 10 a.m. 011 25th May. This i.s really the June draft, for it will be Tune before all the men from the various districts are assembled in camp. Notices to the men concerned are being posted by the Defence Office to-day So/ne men may have already arranged j to go into camp on the date previously • notified. If the alteration of dates is a ' hardship, the men concerned may pro- \ ceed to camp on the date originally noti- } fied, provided they first submit their j case to the Group Commander at Nel- | son, and he is satisfied that hardship | will be caused by the proposed delay. ; He will then order these men to proceed on the date originally fixed. Men of Class B may voluntarily enlist for the drafts going into camp from June to October. (The June draft is 27th May so far as this district is conicerned.) Youths of 19 and 20 who volunteer 1 can be accepted for the June draft, as--1 sembling at Nelson on 27th May. J The last draft to leave Nelson was the 1 ' 36th draft. It has now become the | 38th, and the June draft will be the 1 j 42nd. _ I i It is presumed that this has been 1 brought about by the number of CI men j available, and the accretions from vari- j • ous sources.
