SOLDIERS' CHRISTMAS GIFTS
TO BE DESPATCHED THIS WEEK. Alt Hal lens terns' room Jast week the members of the Lady Liverpool Committee were busily engaig.cd l packing the Christmas parcels for 'the boys at the front. Thirteen large eases, containing 500 gift parcels neatly sewn in calico, are to be despatched this week. The Anchor Shipping Company, as usual, are carrying the cases to Wellington' free of charge. The committee wish, .to tender tlieir •thanks to Captain Collins and his staff. Messrs S. Kirkipatriek and Co., and Messrs E. Buxtcni and Co., Ltd., for in] packing and 1 stene'llinig the cases, and to Messrs R. Hannaii and Co.. Snodgrass and Sons, Jackson and Co., and the Auckland Clothing Company for cases, also to Mrs F. Hamilton and Mr E. Smallbone for lollies. Messrs .7. Wood and Sons, Ltd.. kindly sent, along refresh-' me rats for the ladies, which were much appreciated. The committee are in a position to vouch for the excellent quality of the plum puddings enclosed in the parcels, as one was serafc to the roms. steaming hot, for the ladies to snmpfo and Was most favourably commented on.
