WAIMEA WEST. ROAD BOARD. The ordinary monthly meeting was he.J :m Friday, 9th inst. Present: Mess-a W. L Palmer (Chairman), Tomliiwit , Kord, a a Challies. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence was received as follows : From the Lands Department,, notifying the amount of "thirds" accrued. From the Waimea County Council, enclosing a statement bf rates and subsidy. Also notifying a payment of £7 10s towards the destruction of small birds. From the Appleby Apple Lands Estate, re grant for roads.—To be applied fur. From Mr. R. P. Hudson, M.P., asking foi further information re grant. Information to be supplied. ihe overseer Teported that a splash was needed near Arnold's property^.and that minor repairs to a small, bridgo w-ne iveded.—Resolved to attend l o b'.th matter.* as recommended. lu-.iers \ ei * opened as follows: — For da j man; From Geo. It was resolved to have., the tree-plant-ing on the reserve on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 4th, and to invite residents to be present. Some small accounts were, passed for payment.
