Mr. Tai't requires 204 out of 226 contestants, and an analysis reveals that he is assui t-d ot 120, and -Ml'. Roosevelt of ten. NEW YORK, June 8. The control of the Chicago Republican Convention is problematic. Both the campaign managers claim the victory, but the indications appear to favour Mr Roosevelt, whose forces secured the admission of the press to the conventio'n, although Mr Tuft's supporters opposed it. MR. TAFT'S IMPROVED POSITION. (Received June 10. 8.50 a.m.) NEW YORK. Junc 9. The National Convention of Chicago decided to give Mr. Taft 48 ot the contested delegates, and others are expected to follow. Mr. Taft's chances are thus enormously increased.
