The Duke and Duchess of Conraught, while journeying from Victoria Falls to Salisbury, were cordially but weirdly welcomed at the coalmining township of Wankie by dynamite salutes and colliery hooters startling the stillness of the night. (Received Nov. 18, 8 a.m.) CAPETOWN, Thurs. On the Duke of Connaught's arrival at Salisbury he drove to Government House, opening en route the new road which was christened the King's Way. Thereafter he was publicly welcomed at the Drill Hall.
