Lord Rosebery attended a meeting of ; the executive of the Liberal League, and is understood to have advised the Lea- ? gue's dissolution. This, he declared, shpuld have been done after the general election, when they would have saved the Liberal party from committing itself to an anti-Imperialistic policy and secured the return of 60 or 70 members. The meeting referred a decision to the Council of the League.
