SELECTION THIS AFTERNOON. [United Pbbss Association.] WELLINGTON, Friday. The selection of the Rhodes Scholar for 1909 will be made lato this afternoon. The candidates are: — Messrs A. ileDougnld, Victoria College; \V. O. Aldridge, Auckland; Bruce Morison, Wiinganui; P. McCalluni, Canterbury; 11. McLean, Olago. All but Mr Mo. rison have received advice by cable of their success in the recent University examinations. Each candidate will have to undergo a personal interview ivith the committee, which consists of tlio Governor, Sir Hobert Stout, Mr justice Chapman, and four Professors from the Metropolitan Colleges;
