HAWERA, Yesterday. The Egmont meeting to:day was very successful, the weather being fine and the racing interesting. One accident occurred during the day. Hermit came down in the Hurdles and was killed, land, his rider, breaking his collarbone. The total amount put through the machine wa3 .£6536, against .£5749 last winter. The further results were :— Waihi Handicap— Pareroa 1, Stampede 2, Moltoropuka 3. Divs. .£4 7s and 17s. Mokoia Handicap— Waimoe 1, Inglewood 2, Dick Turpin 3. Divs. SA 9s 6d and £1 2s.
