Huddart, Parker, and Co.'s steamer Victoria has been chartered to convey Cardinal Moran and party to the South Seas at the end of July. NAPIER, Yesterday. The sitting of the Conciliation Board in connection with the wharf laborers and stevedores unions' demands was concluded to-day. The board will go into Committee to consider the demands on their return to Wellington, probably on Friday. AUCKLAND, Tbis Day The latj Hon. Mr Swanson's estate, valued at .£60,000 has been divided among the members of his family. WELLINGTON, This Day. Judgment was given this morning in : the case of Kerr, ex Stock Inspector, v. the Crown, a claim to recover four years' I salary. The Chief Justice held that in law, whatever merits there might be, Mr Kerr was not entitled to succeed on the grounds that if he had a contract with the Crown it was broken more than 12 months before he gave his notice. Judgment for the Crown was given with costs.
